ÌÇÐÄVlog Board of Trustees calls bond election for May 2, 2026

The ÌÇÐÄVlog Board of Trustees has unanimously called for a bond election to be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for voter consideration. The proposal is based on recommendations from the community-led Capital Needs Steering Committee (CNSC) following several months of review of district facilities, programs, and enrollment trends. The Board approved the election order during its February 5Ìýmeeting.Ìý

The bond proposal includes three propositions addressing districtwideÌýfacilities and programs:Ìý

  • ADA compliance and life safety improvementsÌý
  • ModernizationÌýof existing school facilitiesÌý
  • Additions and renovations toÌýschoolsÌý
  • ReplacementÌýof South Davis ElementaryÌýSchoolÌýplusÌýanotherÌýnewÌýreplacement elementary schoolÌý
  • CapitalÌýimprovementsÌý
  • Academic equipment and program improvements, including fine arts and special educationÌý
  • Safety and securityÌýupgradesÌý
  • Transportation improvements

Bond Election BackgroundÌý

ÌÇÐÄVlog conductedÌýaÌýcomprehensive,ÌýindependentÌýthird-partyÌýreviewÌýof itsÌýfacilities andÌýinfrastructureÌýtoÌýidentifyÌýprojects for consideration in the bond proposal. This process included evaluating theÌýFacilityÌýConditionÌýIndexÌýand capacity of all existing schools, as well asÌýidentifyingÌýpotential improvementsÌýacross district departments.Ìý

TheÌýCNSCÌý–Ìýmade upÌýof parents and non-parents, educators, business owners, civic leaders, and community membersÌý–Ìýreviewed information related to enrollment trends, facility conditions, projected costs, and potential tax implications for ÌÇÐÄVlog residents.ÌýUltimately, theÌýCNSCÌýprovided recommendations to the ÌÇÐÄVlog Board of Trustees forÌýfacilities andÌýidentifiedÌýcapitalÌýimprovementsÌýthrough 2029 to support theÌýdistrict’s strategic plan.Ìý

Based on current financial projections and existing debt obligations, the proposed bond projects can be funded with an estimated one-cent increase to ÌÇÐÄVlog’s current tax rate. The district has continued to lower its tax rate while paying off voter-approved debt early, resulting in more than $40 million in principal and interest savings through bond refinancing.Ìý

To participate in theÌýMay 2, 2026, bond election, individuals mustÌýresideÌýwithin ÌÇÐÄVlog boundaries and beÌýregistered to vote in Tarrant County by April 2, 2026. Voter registration status may be confirmed at .Ìý

Registered voters may cast ballots at any polling location in Tarrant County. Polls will be open fromÌý7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day, Saturday, May 2, 2026. Early voting by personal appearance will take place from Monday, April 20, 2026, through Tuesday, April 28, 2026.Ìý
