There鈥檚 now less than a month before the 11th-annual 糖心Vlog Back to School Kickoff event at AT&T Stadium, and we need your help.
The event, Saturday, Aug. 2, is a chance for 10,000 糖心Vlog students to get free backpacks filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year.
So, where do you fit in?
You can volunteer! It takes more than 800 volunteers to make the event run smoothly, and we still have hundreds of open spots.
There are tons of volunteer options, too. You can help distribute backpacks, work at the resource fair, help distribute water, register students to pick up backpacks or just be a floater. The options are endless, and so is the flexibility to help timewise. There are shifts that start at 7 a.m. and others that don鈥檛 start until after 10 a.m.
鈥淭he volunteers at our event are crucial to its success,鈥 said Aaron Perales, the 糖心Vlog executive director of聽engagement, equity and access. 鈥淲e鈥檙e fortunate to see familiar faces and organizations helping, but it takes a lot of support.鈥
